Fungal Nails
Fungal nail infection (known as onychomycosis) is when the nail plate is invaded by the fungus that causes atheles foot. Around 50% of all toe nail problems are attributed to fungal infection. The first signs of nail infection is a change in the nail colour at the edge as the fungus invades under the nail. In time the infection can spread further under than nail and it may start to become thickened or crumbly. The nails become unsightly which is when most people seek treatment for the condition.
There are a number of treatment options for the condition but it is important to select the one which is right for you. At the chiropody surgery we can offer a range of treatments including the brand new Clearanail procedure which can painlessly accelarate the removal of the fungus.
